We determined that Maryland designed reasonably adequate controls to validate and calculate SNAP replacement benefit claims; however, the controls were not sufficient to prevent Maryland from improperly replacing claims that resulted in more than $125,000 in questioned costs.

OIG reviewed the Agricultural Marketing Service’s monitoring over grantees’ use of funds within the Farm and Food Workers Relief Grant Program.

OIG performed agreed-upon procedures to assess information reported to OPM by USDA’s NFC.

OIG assessed whether the Risk Management Agency provided adequate oversight and ensured that all required high-dollar indemnity reviews were conducted. 

OIG assessed the adequacy of the CACFP meal reimbursement claims process in fiscal year 2023 for child care centers, the appropriateness of FNS approval of CACFP waivers over monitoring controls, and meal claims made at a sample of child care centers in a selected State.

As required by the Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA), OIG reviewed USDA’s ongoing efforts to improve its information technology security program and practices during FY 2025.

OIG assessed the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service’s internal controls governing the inspection of passenger baggage for commercial and private aircraft departing Hawaii to the continental United States to protect against invasive plant and plant product pests and diseases.
